• Tax Researcher

  New River Innovation is looking for a Tax Researcher.

  The successful candidate will research primary source material and precedential documents for information on IRS practice and procedure. Examples of research source material include the Internal Revenue Manual, the Internal Revenue Code, court cases, legal documents and IRS.gov. This position will assist the Product Team with research that will be used to create software content and produce CPEs and other educational material. This position will also be responsible for maintaining research files for issues and notices, identifying or reviewing content that requires updating, and identifying FOIA and outside data and research needs.

  The candidate must possess proven communication, facilitation and teamwork skills, and must be highly detailed and systematic in his or her approach. Experience performing research in a professional capacity is a plus.

• Tax Accuracy Editor

  New River Innovation is looking for a Tax Accuracy Editor.

  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that technical tax content is practical, accurate and of high value to the end user. The consultant will review and finalize content generated by technical writers for accuracy and completion. He or she must possess a thorough understanding of individual and business tax procedure for IRS issues and notices. This position entails:

  • Finalizing Web content and IRS outputs for accuracy and completion
  • Producing content outlines for IRS issues and notices
  • Researching content for accuracy and completion
  • Coaching and providing feedback to technical writers

  The successful candidate must have experience in IRS practice and procedure, including a good working knowledge of post-filing issues (audits, collection, appeals, etc.) The candidate must have the ability to write clearly, concisely and practically for an Internet audience, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects with strict adherence to deadlines

  The successful candidate must be systematic and process oriented, with teamwork and communication skills. A working knowledge of software development applications and tools is a plus.
